Israeli start-up View Netic announced a 2.7million NIS fundraising

Posted on Oct 6, 2021 by Ifi Reporter

Start-up ViewNetic, which develops a system for monitoring and early detection of pests and diseases in greenhouses, today announced a 2.7million NIS fundraising.  In total, the company has raised about  4million NIS since its inception, through seed  investment made by the founders and private investors.ViewNetic  has been in operation since  2018,  led by  Ofer Sandelson (CEO), David Scheiner (CTO)  and David Gal (Chairman). The company's initial technology development was funded with investment by the founders.

The company's system enables identification of pests  and disease in vegetable greenhouses. Using AI technology and a unique array of cameras, the system enables early detection of pests and diseases and produces  detailed maps of the crop area, which cannot be produced using currently available methods. This technology streamlines the growing processes by facilitating reduction in quantities of pesticides used and thus minimizing environmental degradation, and dependence on scarce skilled workers. This increases the effectivity of operations, allowing for more efficient utilization of resources while improving the quality and quantity of produce.

Ofer Sandelson, CEO of ViewNetic:  "The system we developed supports the global trend of using biological control agents as a substitute for spraying insecticides. The system enables monitoring the activity of beneficial insects and their interactions with the destructive insects, supporting the employment of Integrated Pest Management methods. To date,  pest control has been based on human monitoring of the crop areas, while in recent years use of  imaging sensors in the greenhouse is becoming prevelant, as well as mobile apps that analyze photographs collected by greenhouse workers. ViewNetic’s technology will enable smarter and more efficient solutions.
