Israeli billionaire Teddy Sagi recently fled an assassination attempt in Cyprus and left the country. According to a report on the Philenews website, in which local police officials were quoted, the 38-year-old Azeri carried a Russian passport with him. He was arrested on Monday afternoon last week, shortly after crossing the border crossing in the northern Nicosia capital from the Cypriot-Turkish authorities into its southern part, the one controlled by the Cypriot-Greek government recognized by the international community.
His rental car, police said, found a gun, bullets and a silencer. According to the report, he is suspected of a crime of planning a crime - execution of a "liquidation contract".
