FOX Group has signed an agreement to acquire a 50% stake in Babyak, a company that develops a line of car safety seats based on proven military technology for energy absorption.
According to the publication, the development is supported by registered patients with an emphasis on ease of use and ease of operation. not only the investment by Fox but one of its partners in the deal: the Carasso Motors Group, which is recognized as one of the oldest in the automotive industry in Israel.
The two groups, along with other investors, completed a $ 6.43 million investment in Babyak.
The launch date of the first chair is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022 when sales will be made directly to consumers (DTC), first in the US and then in the rest of the world.
Babyak has developed a line of child safety seats that provide protection, according to the company's announcement - with an emphasis on user comfort and ease of operation. The chair is integrated with technology inspired by mechanisms in nature (Biomimicking) and incorporates innovative developments that are protected by more than 10 patents.
According to the publication, the combination of the innovative technologies in the baby chair leads to a reduction of up to 2.5 times the intensity of the injury transmitted to the child compared to the leading seats that exist today.
Babyak states that its concept of safety is holistic, broad, and protects the child in all aspects of the use and therefore sees great importance in the ease of application and indication on proper installation of the chair.
The report states that the smart chair gives parents peace of mind and security with information about the child while traveling and when he has reached his destination (including warnings that protect the child from being left in the vehicle).
Babyak was founded by Oren Gur, Anan Hassan, and Shai Mindel (who serves as the company's CEO) as part of the activities of Mobius Protection Systems, which was established in 2009 and sells energy-absorbing solutions for the military field in Israel and around the world.
The deal for the FOX Group was led by FOX LABS, the group's innovation arm focused on developing innovation and strategic investments in the retail-tech world.
