The McDonald's chain will compensate consumers in Israel with NIS 1.3 million

The McDonald's chain will compensate consumers in Israel with NIS 1.3 million, as stipulated in a settlement agreement in a request for a class action filed with the Central District Court. The agreement was submitted for approval by the court.
The lawsuit claims that customers ordered an enlarged meal and paid extra for it, but the chain did not increase the meals as required, or increased them partially so that it did not increase the water bottle.
As part of a compromise agreement between the parties, the owner of the chain, the Alonial company, committed that for 18 months from the date of approval of the compromise (if approved), all customers who order meals with mineral water will receive a benefit. Customers who order a meal with a 500 ml bottle of water will receive an increase to 750 ml. Customers who order a meal with a 750 ml bottle will receive an increase to a liter bottle and customers who order a meal that includes a liter bottle will receive a NIS credit. The customers will receive the compensation automatically. The representative plaintiff will receive NIS 75,000 and his lawyer will receive NIS 250,000.
