The public real estate company Amot will pay NIS 1.518 billion for land in Tzrifin

Posted on Sep 9, 2021 by Ifi Reporter

The public real estate company Amot, controlled by Natan Hetz, will pay NIS 1.518 billion for land on which a logistics center stands in Tzrifin. Build tens of thousands more square meters of warehouses and open spaces.
Amot won the tender after submitting a bid that exceeded most of the other bids by more than 50%. A building company offered a sum of NIS 950 million during the negotiations, and withdrew after the tenderers - the pension fund of the Jewish Agency employees - informed it that there was a better offer than this.
During the negotiations for the sale of the complex, the fund changed the planned method, and decided not to conduct a bidding process between the bidders, but to choose the highest bid that will be submitted by Thursday at 18:00. The change in the method provoked resentment on the part of some of the bidders who claimed a "tailor-made tender" in which the winner was determined in advance. Proceeds from the sale of the property will be used for the benefit of the members and pensioners in the pension fund of the agency employees.
Haim Mevorach, CEO of the Jewish Agency Employees' Benefit and Pension Fund, said: "We have embarked on an orderly, uniform and competitive process that included many participants who were the main players in the market. We had to act within time constraints required by regulation and expected legislative amendments. We are happy to have met all the constraints and managed to secure the highest price for our colleagues. "
