15.2% increase in total credit card purchases by private consumers in May-July 2021

The Central Bureau of Statistics published data on credit card purchases by private consumers in May-July 2021 and revealed that there was a 15.2% increase in total credit card purchases.
In the Group of Other Products and Services, which constitutes 48% of total purchases in 2020, there was an increase of 11.7% in the annual calculation in May-July 2021. Of this, in the Equipment and Transportation Services industry an increase of 26.9% in the annual calculation, In the medical and pharmaceutical services industry an increase of 13.7% on an annual basis, in the books, office equipment and advertising increase of 3.2% on an annual basis, in the equipment and communication services industry an increase of 1.5% on an annual basis, and in the computers and software industry a decrease of 0.2% on an annual basis.
In the Manufacturing Products Group, which constitutes 17% of total purchases in 2020, there was an increase of 6.9% in the annual calculation in May-July 2021, of which, in the clothing and footwear industry an increase of 21.7% in the annual calculation, in the furniture industry an increase of 7.5% in the annual calculation. In the food and beverage group (including food services), which constitutes 16% of the total purchases in 2020, there was an increase of 2% in the annual calculation in May-July 2021.
In the Services Group, which constitutes 19% of the total purchases in 2020, there was an increase of 28% in the annual calculation in May-July 2021. Of this, in the Government and Municipal Services industry there was an increase of 19.1% and in the Insurance industry there was an increase of 7.8%. In addition, there was an 11.7% increase in purchases of other products and services, a 2.0% increase in food and beverage purchases (including food services), a 6.9% increase in industrial product purchases and a 28.0% increase in service purchases.
