Lower-than-expected rate of 12-3 year old students carrying corona virus

Lower-than-expected rate of 12-3 year old students carrying corona virus. Thus, according to preliminary data obtained today (Monday) from the results of serological tests performed on children. Sources in the Ministry of Health estimated that if the rate of positive subjects continues to be low in the coming days, the ministry will consider stopping the operation of the serological tests.
Preliminary results of the tests showed that about 16% of the 12-3 year olds had been infected with corona in the past, and are therefore entitled to an exemption from isolation and tests to detect the virus. The data are based on about 47,000 tests conducted so far, out of 1.6 million tests that are supposed to be performed. In the current test operation, the Ministry of Health has ordered about 250,000 kits for serological tests.

These data also include about 7,000 tests conducted in the ultra-Orthodox cities, where it is estimated that the rate of positives will be higher. Sources in the education system estimated that the longer the operation continues in the general population, the lower the rate of positive subjects. The data is expected to continue to be updated in the coming days. Meanwhile, the Ness Ziona Municipality and the Hod Hasharon Municipality have updated that the rate of positive subjects in the serological tests was much lower and amounted to 3.3% -1.5%.
Most of the tests were performed in the Central District (18.6 thousand subjects), and in the Jerusalem District (11.6 thousand subjects), and to a lesser extent in the Ashkelon District (approximately 5,400 subjects), and in the Tel Aviv District (approximately 4,600 subjects). In the north and south of the country, individual tests were carried out, from which it is impossible to produce an accurate situation.
