Central Bureau of Statistics: Number of new dwellings sold in June was 5,39

According to a survey published today (Sunday) by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), the number of new dwellings sold in June was 5,391 - slightly higher than the monthly record set last month. This is a 24% jump compared to June last year. In the 12 months between July 2020 to June 2021, 47,401 new apartments were sold, an increase of about 33% compared to the previous 12 months - then only 35,639 new apartments were sold. The government also admits that no change is expected in the near future. This evening, the housing price index is also expected to be published.
According to CBS data, in the three months April-June 2021, about 14,560 new dwellings were sold, an increase of 36.5% compared to the previous three months (January-March 2021), after seasonal adjustment, there is a 32% increase compared to the previous period. About a quarter of all new apartments sold were in localities: Ashkelon, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Bat Yam and Ramat Gan.
In the three months of April-June 2021, about a quarter of the total demand for new dwellings was in the Central District, about 21.2% - in the Tel Aviv District and 18.4% - in the Southern District, compared with only about 6.7% of the total demand for new dwellings in the Jerusalem District.
The share of dwellings sold out of the nationally demanded quantity was 82.3%. A similar percentage and even higher percentages were observed in most districts - for example in the Tel Aviv district (94.5%), in the Haifa district (85.3%), in the southern district (83.4%) and in the Jerusalem district (81.5%). In contrast, in the Northern District, the percentage of dwellings sold out of the total quantity requested was about 60.7%.
