Disappointing exit for the Israeli company Zebra Medical: to be acquired by Nanox for $ 200 million

Disappointing exit for the Israeli company Zebra Medical, which was previously considered the great promise of its field: Zebra Medical Vision, announced that it had signed an agreement to be acquired by Nanox, a company traded on the Nasdaq, in a transaction of only $ 200 million.
Founded in 2014, Zebra Medical was one of the pioneers in deciphering artificial intelligence-based medical imaging (AI). Zebra Medical Vision's algorithms process and run on the world's largest medical imaging database for research. It has 7 FDA approved solutions as well as a large number of CE standard approved solutions.
In the first years of its activity, the company was considered a pioneer in the field of image decoding and the one who should lead the field in the future. When it raised $ 30 million in Round C in 2018 it did so at a value of $ 90 million, according to a source close to the deal.
As part of the acquisition agreement, the shareholders of Zebra Medical Vision are expected to receive $ 100 million in shares of the traded company Nanox, and an additional NIS 100 million according to meeting various targets agreed between the parties. Zebra Medical Vision will function as an independent subsidiary under the brand of the acquiring company.
Zebra Medical has so far raised $ 53 million from a number of leading high-tech investors, including Keren Amon, Amnon Shashua, Mark Benioff (CEO of SalesForce), Johnson & Johnson, Khosla Ventures and more.
