The Ministry of Health publishes an encouraging figure: A health ministry survey shows that most of those vaccinated who were found to be positive for the corona virus did not infect other people.
The test shows that vaccinated people who were verified in Corona and participated in cultural performances or attended banquet halls, restaurants and gyms did not cause widespread spread of the disease. The test shows that 80% of those vaccinated against Corona did not infect even one person. Also, 10% of the verified infected only 1 person and 3% infected between two and three people. As for the remaining 7% - it is not known whether others were infected or not.
This test refers to places that are included in the outline of the green mark and does not refer to infection in homes. This is because in enclosed spaces in general and in homes in particular the proximity and exposure are higher, as well as the percentage of infection is higher.
This is a particularly encouraging test against the background of the data according to which the effectiveness of the vaccine decreases compared to the delta strain in preventing infection. Although we see that more vaccinated people become infected, it can now be assumed that they are less contagious than non-vaccinated patients.
Two days ago, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett emphasized the importance of the vaccine and claimed that those who choose not to be vaccinated harm the health and freedom of the general public. "If the original corona could have been blocked with vaccines only, then in the Delta wave the government built a plan of 3 layers of protection - the vaccine layer, the adult protection layer and the mask layer," the prime minister explained at a press conference in the Tel Aviv campus.
