Posted on Jul 12, 2021 by Ifi Reporter

Maintanence employees of the administration and the economy and the auxiliary forces in the hospitals start to day a strike on Tuesday morning.
The strike will not include administration services, maintenance, cleaning, kitchen, patient transport services, auxiliary power, laundry, warehouses, sterile supplies for operating rooms, computer services, engineering services, pollution purification services, yard services, garden services, and more. This, with the exception of wards that are related to urgent medical activities, such as oncology wards, dialysis, preterm infants, maternity wards, in these wards services will be provided on a Saturday basis.

Eli Badash, chairman of the National Committee, said: “We need more manpower. Employees are collapsing. The volume of work in hospitals has increased by hundreds of percent in recent years and we are left with a number of employees similar to what was 20 years ago. "
The strike is expected to involve 13,000 employees of the administration and the economy in 30 medical centers, including all government hospitals - general, psychiatric and geriatric. The committee demands the abolition of the dismissal of the 200 workers absorbed in the corona year and even the addition of additional standards to deal with the congestion.
The hospitals where the employees of the administration and the economy sat: Rambam Medical Center, Sheba Tel Hashomer Medical Center, Shamir Medical Center, Galil-Nahariya Medical Center, Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, Brazilian Medical Center, Wolfson Medical Center, Poria Medical Center, Ziv Medical Center , Sha'ar Menashe Psychiatric Hospital, Abarbanel, Eitanim Mental Health Hospital, spaces for young people for brain and mental care Ziona and Beer Yaakov, Be'er Sheva Mental Health Psychiatric Hospital, Ma'ale HaCarmel Psychiatric Hospital, Kfar Shaul Mental Health Hospital, Mazor Mental Health Hospital , Generations Netanya Geriatric Hospital, Fliman Rehabilitation Hospital, La Hasharon Mental Health Hospital, Rishon Lezion Geriatric Hospital, Shoham Geriatric Hospital, Shmuel Harofe Geriatric Hospital.
In 2018, the Committee of Workers and Administration announced that they were sitting in protest of the congestion in the hospitals and calling for improved employment conditions, but the strike was eventually lifted after the Labor Court ruled that negotiations would be held under its auspices. Even then the strike was expected to include 30 medical centers, including all government hospitals.
The Administrative and Economy Workers' Committee claimed at the time that the finance representatives refused to discuss the congestion in the hospitals and the lack of standards and demanded not to go on strike as a precondition for further negotiations. On the other hand, the Ministry of Finance claimed that the workers "raised unreasonable demands on the eve of the strike"
