IAI and Israel Shipyards signed a cooperation agreement: will develop a cyber protection solution for ships

Israel Aerospace Industries and Shipyards has signed a cooperation agreement, under which Israel Aerospace Industries and Shipyards will develop a cyber protection suit for ships. The new solution will include dedicated defense mechanisms adapted to marine platforms, taking into account the technical characteristics of the systems. .
The regulation on marine systems, led by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), has begun the process of deepening cyber protection requirements for ships and ports. About 95% of imports to Israel come by sea and include required goods in the fields of energy, food, industry, security and more. Increasing global cyber attacks on ports and ships could jeopardize the functional stability of maritime transport, and such attacks, whether by hackers or by piracy, disrupt the ship's navigation and operations capabilities, leak information, delay shipments, and harm the country.
The aerospace industry is developing cyber solutions and unique and advanced capabilities for national cyber arrays, cyber protection on platforms, forensics and training and offers its customers a variety of capabilities to deal with the various cyber threats.
