Partner: launching a surfing package with speeds of up to 3 GB

Posted on Jul 8, 2021 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

A little more than a flash: Partner announced today (Thursday) that it is launching a surfing package with speeds of up to 3 GB. The package includes infrastructure and Internet access at a price of NIS 259 per month. The company will market the new package under a brand called "Private Fiber" - a fiber optic connection privately to each customer.
Partner is the first company in Israel to start deploying and connecting fiber optic customers in 2017, and currently has 165,000 customers in the field. The company makes it possible to join the new service for existing customers as well, at no additional cost for installation.
In recent months, competition in the fiber market has escalated, after Bezeq announced the launch of its fiber project in March, after many years of working to expand its infrastructure. Last month, Bezeq announced that it was launching a fiber optic with a speed of 2.5 GB. The price of Bezeq's package is NIS 149, but it does not include the access provider or the cost of installation. Apparently, the other competitors in the fiber field - HOT and Cellcom - will also soon introduce similar browsing speeds.
In order to connect to such high surfing speeds, both Partner and Bezeq customers will be required to purchase separately suitable equipment capable of withstanding such surfing speeds.
Bezeq's entry into the competition pushed Partner to enter localities that it had not tried to reach so far for reasons of cost and economic benefit. So far, Partner and Cellcom have preferred to deploy infrastructure mainly in cities with a lot of residential buildings, and connect to the fiber optic mainly high-rise buildings that have potential for many customers. . The company also noted that it has signed an agreement with Oranit, which will connect all its households and its council institutions to fiber optics.
