The periphery continues to lead in ordering packages in relation to the size of the population: In Kiryat Ata, the most packages are ordered in relation to the size of the population: 5.7 packages per resident. Jerusalem was ranked second in the number of orders with over 1.7 million packages from abroad, and in 20th place with an average of one and a half packages per capita (almost one million residents).
2020 was not an easy year for postal customers. The Ministry of Communications recently announced that it wants to fine Israel Post NIS 1.1 million for reducing the number of hours and days of operation by 44 postal units during the third closure, in violation of the license provisions. At the same time, many complaints were received from the public and various sources about the very long waiting times that created crowds in the postal units. The Ministry of Communications' investigation also revealed that customers who booked an appointment in advance, found themselves arriving at the postal unit and finding it closed without the postal company bothering to inform them of the closing of the unit.
