Dr. David Klein former Governor of the Bank of Israel past away

The Governor of the Bank of Israel, the Monetary Committee and the Administrative Council, members of the management, and all Bank employees and retirees share the family's grief and bow their heads over the death of Dr. David Klein, former Governor of the Bank of Israel, who passed away last night.
Dr. Klein has held various positions at the Bank of Israel since 1987 and headed the Monetary Department and the Supervisor of Foreign Exchange, and then served as the Bank's seventh Governor from 2000 to 2005. In his position, Dr. Klein was a key figure in major moves that contributed greatly to the Bank of Israel. Dr. Klein has led these moves in measuring monetary policy results, lowering inflation and maintaining price stability, liberalizing the foreign exchange market, and increasing stability and competition in the financial system.
The current Governor of the Bank of Israel, Prof. Amir Yaron:
"The people of the Bank of Israel for generations and I today bow our heads in memory of David, cherish his great contribution to the Bank of Israel and the Israeli economy, and share in the deep sorrow of the family. May his memory be blessed."
