Posted on Jul 4, 2024 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Tevel, which operates the red line of the light rail in Gush Dan, announced today (Thursday) that following a sinkhole that was discovered near the Binyamin station in Bat Yam, the R2 line of the light rail in Gush Dan, between the Kommiam station in the city and the Kiryat Aryeh station in Petah Tikva, was shut down.
According to Tevel's announcement, the R1 line operates only from the Atzmatu station in Bat Yam, to a central station in Petah Tikva in both directions. In Tel Aviv they said that questions can be addressed to hotline 9943*, on Telegram and on Facebook.
This is the second sinkhole incident discovered in the past month, near the light rail stations in Gush Dan. In mid-June, activity at eight stations in Bat Yam was shut down for more than 10 hours due to a sinkhole that opened at an intersection near the Rothschild station in the city.
