The Israir flight to Dubai, which was scheduled to take off Tuesday morning was cancelled due to the Saudis

Posted on May 25, 2021 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

The Israir flight to Dubai, which was scheduled to take off  Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. to Dubai, has not received approval from the Saudi aviation authorities to fly in the country's airspace. As a result, the flight was not carried out and company representatives are trying to understand why the approval was not given, and have not yet received an answer.
At the same time, an El Al flight to Dubai took off at 13:00 as a series and flew over Saudi airspace without any change in plan. In September 2020, Saudi Arabia announced that it would allow all flights departing from the United Arab Emirates to pass through its airspace, thus paving the way for Israeli airlines to save valuable air time and fly a shorter route to the east. The three Israeli airlines, El Al, Israir and Arkia, are currently operating flights to Dubai.
The fear among Israeli airlines that the operation in the Gaza Strip distances Israel from Saudi Arabia and could cause real damage to flights and other economic issues in which the two countries are involved.
