Property tax data from the Tax Authority show that a total of 5,245 claims were filed

Ashkelon is the city most hit by missile fire on Israel in Operation Wall Guard. To date, 1,087 claims for damages have been filed in the most bombed-out city. It is followed by Ashdod with 359 claims, Ramat Gan - 254 claims, Holon - 249, Petah Tikva - 231 and Tel Aviv with 155 claims. 123 lawsuits were filed in Sderot.
Property tax data from the Tax Authority show that a total of 5,245 claims were filed by yesterday evening. 170 families were evicted from their homes and alternative housing and accommodation were obtained for them.
In the Gaza Envelope, 2,585 lawsuits were filed, including Ashkelon, Beer Sheva, Sderot and other settlements in the Negev. In Gush Dan, 2,336 lawsuits were filed, in the Jerusalem district, 81 lawsuits were filed, most of them due to the riots in the city. In the Haifa area, 253 lawsuits were filed, all due to damage from the riots in the cities involved.
There is no final estimate of the cost of the damage, but based on similar operations in the past, it is probably more than a quarter of a billion shekels.
Houses and apartments were mainly damaged in Ashkelon - 787 buildings were damaged, some severely. In Ashdod 228 buildings were damaged, in Ramat Gan 227 buildings, in Holon 188 buildings, in Petah Tikva 182 buildings and in Givatayim 136 buildings. In Tel Aviv, 77 buildings were damaged, including a number of buildings damaged in the riots in Jaffa.
Star vehicles were also badly damaged: 684 vehicles in the Dan Bloc, 868 vehicles in the south of the country, 111 vehicles from riots in the Haifa area and 61 vehicles in the Jerusalem area, some of them by missile fire on the Jerusalem Corridor.
Employees of the Property Tax Compensation Fund, accompanied by appraisers and engineers, have been working since the beginning of Operation Wall Guard in affected areas to respond to those whose property was damaged by rocket fire, and to those whose property was damaged as a result of hostilities between Arab and Jewish populations.
The Tax Authority clarified today that so far only application data received at property tax centers that included notifications of damages have been published. Claim files that have been opened in the system and are in various stages of treatment will now be examined. In the Ashkelon, Tel Aviv and Haifa centers, data from patients who have not yet been entered into the claims system are still specified separately.
