The Israeli start-up Salto announced that it has completed a second round of raising $ 42 million, led by the Accel Fund and with the participation of the funds that have invested in the company in the past: Salesforce Ventures, Lightspeed and Bessemer.
The company's total funding is now $ 69 million, after only last October it raised a first round of $ 27 million.
Gil Hopper, the company's VP of technology and one of its founders, explained about the departure for further recruitment in a short time: “It stems from the desire to run fast and capture as much of the market as possible. The demand we see from customers is growing, and we need more resources to accelerate growth. "The current financial climate supports this and allows companies with similar considerations to recruit on good terms." He said the company's product already has several dozen customers. Hopper declined to provide data on the company's revenue and growth rate.
Salto has developed technology designed for organizations to streamline work with popular enterprise software such as Salesforce (Customer Management), HubSpot (Marketing), NetSuite (Financial Management), WorkDay (Personnel) and others. According to the company, many companies face difficulties when they want to adapt these software to their needs.
"Most changes are made manually and outdated, slow and error-prone, with no built-in documentation mechanism or control tools," says Hopper. "This makes it difficult for the organization to move forward quickly, and the mistakes that can be made in the process can even lead to the shutdown of the entire organization. The process of managing the changes (configuration) of the business systems is so complex that the Salesforce support products market is valued at $ 14.5 billion."
In order to provide a solution to the problem, Salto has developed a product that allows you to manage the changes made to those enterprise software. The company explains that "Salto's technology connects to the business systems, imports their configuration and translates them into easy-to-understand code language. This allows for the first time operations such as search, analysis, documentation, version reconstruction, creating shared work environments, etc. on multiple business systems in one place "For example, before changing a value in the 'Transaction type' field in a sales system, you can check if the value is used in other places in the system, which fields depend on it - and understand how the change in value is likely to affect them."
Salto was founded in 2019 by entrepreneurs Rami Tamir (CEO), Benny Schneider (Chairman) and Gil Hopper (VP of Technology). The company employs 37 people, 32 of them in Israel.
Tamir and Schneider are veteran entrepreneurs who have already established and sold companies together for cumulative sums of hundreds of millions of dollars. Among other things, they founded the Ravello company, which was sold to Oracle for $ 450 million in 2016. Hopper worked with them and was one of Ravello's seniors. After the exit, the three served in roles at Oracle - before leaving to form Salto. About two years ago, Oracle decided to close its Ravello operations.
