Blackstone Fund is entering Israel - Yifat Oron will be the CEO

Yifat Oron, until recently CEO of Leumi Tech, will lead the Blackstone Fund's new investment activity in Israeli high-tech - in Tel Aviv. The fund, which is considered one of the largest in the world in private investment, recently completed $ 4.5 billion in investment in growth companies.
This is the largest amount ever raised by a private entity and now the huge fund is expected to attack Israeli technology companies, among others, and dramatically increase the presence of large foreign investment bodies that have recently been operating in the local market.
The new growth fund, called BXG, has already made a number of investments in the past year including companies that have already issued Wall Street like BUMBLE. Danny Gillerman, a former Israeli ambassador to the UN, who has tried to develop the foundation's activities to date in his role as an adviser to Blackstone since 2013, will be appointed chairman of Blackstone in Israel.
The Blackstone Foundation, founded 35 years ago by Stephen Schwartzman, who currently serves as CEO and chairman, manages $ 619 billion in assets and employs more than 3,000 people. The Israeli branch will be the 26th in the number of the fund worldwide.
Prior to joining Blackstone, Oron served as CEO of Leumi Tech, a leading Israeli technology banking platform that serves and finances thousands of technology companies and supports their global growth. She has spent most of her career as a partner in the Israeli venture capital fund Vertex, as part of her role she has invested and served as a member of the board of directors of various Israeli technology companies.
Previously, Oron served as a member of the banking investment team in technology companies of JPMorgan Chase & Co. In New York. Prior to that, she sat on the Ministry of Defense's research and development board for three years and reached the rank of deputy in the Department of Economics, Budget and Control. Oron holds a master's degree in business administration from Tel Aviv University and a bachelor's degree in economics and management from the Technion in Haifa.
Stephen Schwartzman, Blackstone's chairman, CEO and founding partner, said in announcing Blackstone's entry into Israel: "We are focused on making investments in fast-growing sectors such as technology, life sciences and the digital economy.
