The IAI Workers' Committee, chaired by Yair Katz, declared a labor dispute at the company after the finance commissioner, Kobi Bar-Natan, rejected a number of agreements reached with the management regarding wage increases at the company for 2021. The talks are part of negotiations between the two bodies ahead of the planned IPO. 25% of the company's shares.
A letter sent to the workers' committee states that "for several months now the workers' organization and the company's management have been discussing the promotion quota in the ranks of employees and company employees for 2021. A few weeks ago we reached an agreement on a rank quota for the satisfaction of both parties (workers' union and management)."
It was also written that "unfortunately, the wage commissioner after the above agreement chose to intervene once again in internal arrangements between the workers' organization and the company's management and demanded from the workers additional painful concessions that we will not agree to. The Wage Commissioner prohibits the company from promoting employees in ranks and conditional on this by the workers' organization waiving linkage to framework agreements and wage increases for the years 2020 and 2021 if signed in the public sector.
"It is not acceptable for us that a party (the wage commissioner) who was not present at the negotiations in the first place would express his opinion at the end of the procedure and change the agreements to the detriment of the workers. We as a responsible workers' organization expect and demand from the management to stand by us and demand from the payroll manager to approve the agreements and allow the industrial quiet that has characterized the company in recent years and contributed to its success and prosperity, which is reflected in the excellent financial statements of 2020 ".
