Bazen and Sonol will establish a joint venture to build gas stations and issue hydrogen for transportation in Israel

Israeli refinery company (Bazen) and Sonol have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint venture to build gas stations and issue hydrogen for transportation in Israel.
The companies are expected to formulate a detailed plan and begin the pilot - the first stop in the Haifa Bay area. As part of the pilot, a joint body will be established that will be responsible for the construction, management and operation of the station, including the purchase of hydrogen and its transport from the gas station to the station through transportation or a direct line from the gas station to the gas station.
In 2020, Sonol won a call from the state to build the first hydrogen station in Israel. The pilot station to be built by Zen and Sonol will initially provide hydrogen energy for heavy transport (trucks and buses). This is a significant source of pollution in the area and in general. Later it will also serve private vehicles.
At the same time, Sonol signed an agreement with the German company H2 Mobility, which has established and operates 90 hydrogen refueling stations throughout Germany and is considered a world leader in this field. As part of the agreement, the German company will assist Sonol in the design, construction, infrastructure and preparation for the operation of the Sonol water stations throughout Israel.
Bazen (+ 0% 82.4) is the largest hydrogen producer in Israel with the ability to produce up to 8 tons per hour, although in a polluting process. In December 2020, the company won a grant from the Ministry of Energy for a pioneering project to establish an infrastructure for marketing hydrogen for transportation. The purpose of Bazan's project is to develop a pioneering ability to compress and transport hydrogen of a quality that matches transportation needs in response to a plan to introduce hydrogen fuel vehicles into the country in favor of clean transportation.
