Posted on Mar 10, 2021 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

A new technological complex for the development and production of advanced navigation systems, which do not depend on GPS, is currently being inaugurated by the Administration for Research, Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure (Mapat) in the Ministry of Defense and IAI. That will enable the delivery of the next generation of navigation systems while making a leap in their capabilities.
This is an innovative navigation measurement technology, based on a unique Israeli development, formulated during years of research and applied work jointly by Mapat and IAI. These measurements will be integrated into the various operational systems in the Israeli defense system and thus enable the State of Israel With the challenges of the modern battlefield.
The head of R&D at Mapat, the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Yaniv Ratam: "As part of the technological independence of the State of Israel, it proves once again with the inauguration of the complex that we are at the forefront of technology. The many years of knowledge and experience accumulated at Mapat and Tamam, our traveling companions, allowed us to challenge ourselves with complete confidence and achieve impressive results.
Avi Elisha, director of the Tamm plant in IAI: "We are working in a long-term partnership with Mapat and the Ministry of Defense to continuously improve the capability of advanced navigation systems for the State of Israel. The center we inaugurated will allow for the most accurate navigation capability based on the unique technologies from the aerospace industry. "This is a technology that exists in only a few places in the world which, along with other developments in the field, is a leap forward in the field of navigation - in the best tradition and ability of Tamm for many years to come."
The innovative navigation technology complex established at Tamam, the house of electro-optics and navigation in the IAI's Missile and Space Systems Division, reflects decades of experience in developing the company's accumulated navigation systems. IAI is a center of national and global technological knowledge in the fields of air defense, radars, satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles, civil aviation and cyber.
