According to data from the Enforcement and Collection Authority published today (Tuesday), about 173,000 Corona fines in the total amount of about NIS 150 million were not paid. This is after the 90 days have elapsed during which the report must be paid. The public's debt includes interest, which also relates to reports whose due date has not yet passed, currently stands at about NIS 327 million.
From the beginning of the corona crisis until 9.3.21, 608,666 corona fines were received by the Enforcement and Collection Authority. Of these, 423,886 reports remain in stock for collection, which are in the "not yet paid" status. It will be clarified that the recipient of the fine has up to 90 days to pay the fine and therefore the fines that were distributed from December 8 have not yet passed the deadline for payment.

"Debtors who have not paid their debt. For some time now, there has been a dramatic increase of tens of percent in the number of people applying to the center for debt settlements and a reduction in arrears accrued after non-payment of fines on time."
