The Abu Dhabi Investment Ministry (ADIO) recently established official contacts with two other government bodies in Israel in order to accelerate cooperation in the fields of investment and innovation in the private sector between the two markets. The separate cooperation agreements signed with "Invest in Israel" and the Israel Innovation Authority are part of a series of strategic initiatives that ADIO has undertaken to implement in order to create additional and greater opportunities for the private sector in Israel.
Invest in Israel is Israel's investment promotion agency established under the Ministry of Economy and Industry, while the Israeli Innovation Authority is an independent publicly funded agency that provides practical business support aimed at promoting innovation and creating economic growth in Israel. As part of the agreements, ADIO will work closely with the two organizations to create collaboration opportunities for companies.
Muhammad Ali al-Shurafa, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, said: “As a regional leader in technology, research and development, Abu Dhabi sees synergies with Israeli bodies focused on innovation in agricultural technologies, biomedicine and advanced manufacturing. These agreements are a significant milestone in the campaign to promote cooperation between our two markets in navigating the search for solutions that can benefit a wide area. "
Minister of Economy and Industry, Amir Peretz: "The Ministry of Economy and Industry is pleased to support and follow the agreements of Invest in Israel and the Innovation Authority with the Abu Dhabi Investment Ministry (ADIO). We are convinced that this step will strengthen economic dialogue between Israel and the United Arab Emirates." "I would like to thank Ms. Ziva Eiger, who, in her role as Head of the Industrial Cooperation and Promotion of Foreign Investment Authority, pushed and promoted the strategic dialogue with ADIO and the signing of this agreement."
The cooperation agreements between ADIO and Invest in Israel are based on a number of initiatives aimed at assisting in business connections and deepening knowledge about the options in each market. In addition, ADIO and the Israeli Innovation Authority are working together to build a joint program aimed at completing the development of innovative Israeli technologies in Abu Dhabi, where technological innovations in broad areas are possible.
Dr Tariq Bin Hendy, CEO of ADIO, the government center that supports private sector investment in Abu Dhabi, said: “Abu Dhabi is a well-established destination for businesses and startups from all over the world and we look forward to welcoming Israeli companies who identify with our ambition to develop secondary innovations. "We have received amazing responses from various Israeli companies and we are currently in discussions with a large number of Israeli entrepreneurs, startups and businesses regarding expansion into Abu Dhabi. Recent cooperation agreements signed will accelerate the formation of fruitful partnerships and business opportunities for our two markets."
