Dror Bin will be appointed the new CEO of the Innovation Authority

Dror Bin will be appointed the new CEO of the Innovation Authority. Bin was chosen from among about 60 people who applied for the position. The selection committee debated until the last minutes between two final candidates. The appointment of Bin will be finally approved after consultation with the Companies Authority.
Bin (54) has served as President and CEO of RAD since 2012. RAD leads access solutions for communications networks and employs several hundred employees, at the company's headquarters in Ramat Hachayal in Tel Aviv, at the Har Hotzvim production center in Jerusalem, at the Be'er Sheva development center and in branches around the world .
In his past employment, he held senior positions at Comverse for about a decade, most recently as the company's VP of global sales and a member of the board. He holds a BSC in Information Systems and Computer Engineering from the Technion, a BSC in Industry and Management from the Technion and a Master's degree in Business Administration (Marketing and Finance), from Tel Aviv University. He is married and has three children, and lives in Ramat Hasharon.
The Innovation Authority, formerly known as the Chief Scientist Division, is an independent statutory authority that serves as the government's arm to support high-tech - an industry responsible for almost 15% of GDP and almost 50% of industrial production in Israel. Nationality for Israelis and more. Recently, the Authority was responsible for a program to encourage institutional investment in high-tech. The Authority's budget is about NIS 1.8 billion a year. In 2020, the budget increased (due to the Corona crisis) - and amounted to about NIS 2.25 billion. Its current one, in 2016, and since then it has been headed by Aharon Aharon - who also came from the high-tech world and served in his previous position as CEO of Apple Israel.
