7,761 people have been diagnosed in Corona in the past day - 8.8% infection rate

The Ministry of Health updated this morning (Tuesday) that 7,761 people have been diagnosed in Corona in the past day. This increased the number of patients verified in Israel to 700,479. Yesterday, results were obtained for 91,209 tests, with the percentage of positive for the virus being 8.8%. The test data and their results are not final and may change in subsequent updates from the Ministry of Health.
The number of active patients is 70,120. 1,710 patients are hospitalized, of whom 306 are respirators and 1,088 are seriously ill. Currently, 5,192 people have died from the corona virus in Israel, 71 of them in the last day.
Yesterday, 4,557 people were diagnosed in Corona. The number of tests was 53,618, of which 8.8% were positive for the virus. The Minister of Health, Yuli Edelstein, updated this morning that so far, since the beginning of the vaccine, more than 3.5 million people in Israel have been vaccinated. Of these, 2,157,000 people also received the second vaccine. Yesterday, we vaccinated 122,000 people in the country against Corona.
Against the background of high morbidity figures, the Corona Cabinet is expected to convene tonight to vote on a proposal to open kindergartens and first-fourth grades in green and yellow localities starting Thursday morning. This, following last night's cabinet meeting in which it was decided not to open the institutions yet, and repeated discussions on the subject that have accompanied the last few days.
