Ministry of Transportation approved: El Al will operate flights between Ben Gurion Airport and New York as early as Tuesday

The Ministry of Transportation has approved operating flights to return Israelis to and from Israel from the United States. El Al will operate these flights between Ben Gurion Airport and New York as early as tomorrow (Tuesday). The flights will be used by passengers seeking to depart or enter Israel and meet the criteria set out in the regulations as well as for cases approved by the Exceptions Committee.
The first two flights from Ben Gurion Airport to New York departed tomorrow at 17:35 and at 23:00. The flights back from New York to Ben Gurion Airport departed on Thursday at 06:30 and at 12:00. A third flight will return from New York to Ben Gurion Airport on Saturday at 11:50 p.m.
The price of a one-way ticket will be $ 600, including hand luggage up to 8 kg and a suitcase weighing up to 20 kg, at no extra charge.
Passengers wishing to fly to Israel will be required to present before boarding a negative corona test from the last 72 hours or alternatively a vaccination or recovery certificate from the Ministry of Health, or a special certificate from the Corona Test Exemption Committee, headed by the Population Authority and the Ministries of Health and Foreign Affairs.
In addition, passengers will be required to present an online health statement for the Ministry of Health before boarding the plane. Passengers who do not present the required credentials, or passengers who are found verified, will not be able to board the flight.
It will be emphasized that all passengers returning on these flights to Israel will be required to perform corona tests at Ben Gurion Airport and will be transferred to isolation in a motel upon their return to Israel.
