The Israeli chemical company ACL signed an agreement to supply potash with an aggregate volume of 830 thousand tons to its customers in China, for approximately 227 million dollars. The sale price in the agreements is $273 per ton, a figure lower than last year's price, which was $307 per ton.
Idan Ofer's ICL, which fell by 2.9% yesterday, went through a period of uncertainty following the start of the war in Ukraine and restrictions on the Russian economy. In 2021, potash prices hovered around $200, when during the war they jumped 3 times. At the beginning of 2023, they stabilized around $400 and now the gradual price decline continues.
It is important to note that the average price per quarter includes both China and other markets, which have higher prices and pull the average upwards, but in the Chinese market the prices are lower (in the USA or Brazil the price is over $300).
