Missile Fired from Yemen has been Intercepted Over Israel Overnight

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it intercepted a missile fired from Yemen into Israeli territory overnight, between Friday and Saturday. The launch triggered air raid sirens across central Israel, including the Sharon region and the lowlands.
According to Magen David Adom (MDA), no casualties or damage were reported.
This marks the second missile launch from Yemen toward Israel in less than 72 hours. On Thursday morning, a similar missile was intercepted, prompting alarms in several southern Negev communities.
The missile attacks come in the wake of Israeli airstrikes in Yemen earlier this week. On Wednesday night, the Israeli Air Force conducted a large-scale operation targeting strategic Houthi positions across three locations in Yemen. The operation involved 12 fighter jets and included what military officials described as the Air Force’s longest flight since the beginning of the current conflict.
Targets reportedly included:
-
Military camps housing Houthi operatives
-
The headquarters of the Houthi military information department
-
A fuel storage facility used for military purposes
Following the strikes, the Houthi-controlled Health Ministry in Yemen reported 35 fatalities and 131 injuries.
The IDF stated that the airstrikes were a response to continued Houthi aggression and were aimed at disrupting the group's operational capabilities.
This latest exchange underscores rising tensions between Israel and the Iran-backed Houthi militia, as the broader regional conflict continues to intensify.
