11,000 new job seekers were registered in the last 24 hours

The data released this morning (Tuesday) by the Employment Service is simply sad and depressing: 11,000 new job seekers were registered in the last day. They have been added to the 100,000 who have already been sent home from work in the current closure, many of them for the second and third time. A fifth of them will no longer be thrown out of their jobs, they are simply permanently fired.
The total number of unemployed of the employment service stands at 745,655 people. Each and every one of them is a woman or a man who has done nothing wrong. They just wanted to work and make a living. Then the employer came in the morning and informed them, many times in a short text message: Do not come to work. You went on vacation. At worst it will be: Please come today for a hearing.
50,000 such workers have been registered as job seekers since the closure was tightened, just five days ago. We have already reached a rate of 45.6% of registrants since the start of the closure, on December 27th. Since then, 110,000 workers have been fired, just like that. Each of them is a person who has been humiliated, received a not easy blow on the wing of the bank account and must now recalculate his financial conduct.
And so we here in the system get every morning the dry numbers, behind each of which stand a woman and a man with tears in their eyes. These are just stories of sad workers sent home from the education system, from the closed shops, from the gyms that have been going up for four months, from the locked hotels. We did not hear a single word about them from Netanyahu, Ganz, Lapid, Litzman, Zelicha, Huldai and there is not enough space to mention everything else.
