On the last day of the 2020 budget year, at noon, 9 MKs (out of 17) in the Knesset Finance Committee approved, in less than three hours, the transfer of NIS 3.5 billion from target to target within the state budget.
These are internal changes, made mainly in the budgets of education, transportation, welfare, religions and the Civil Administration. The discussion was relatively quick, given the pressure from government ministries to approve the changes today.
Following the coalition agreements between the Likud and Shas and Torah Judaism, NIS 136 million was transferred, at the request of the Ministry of Education, to finance unpaid money in the Maayan Torah education network close to Shas and in the recognized non-formal education.
For the activity of independent education close to Torah Judaism, the spring of Torah education, and Torah culture, a budget increase of NIS 18 million was approved. In addition, a transfer of NIS 3 million from the Treasury to the Ministry of Religions was approved, for the benefit of halakhic counseling and guidance services in the field of fertility, in accordance with support tests.
