Data published today by the Automated Banking Services Company, director of the national credit card payment system, show that during rush hours yesterday and this morning, there were increases in the expenses of the Israeli public with credit cards.
According to the data, yesterday (Thursday) the Israelis spent a total of more than NIS 1.05 billion between 10: 00-18: 00, compared to NIS 910 million in those hours last Thursday. This is an increase of more than 14% in the volume of credit card expenses during rush hours yesterday.
This morning (Friday) between the hours of 9: 00-12: 00, credit card transactions totaling more than NIS 360 million were recorded in the payment system. For comparison, last Friday during these hours, credit card expenses in the amount of NIS 320 million were recorded. This is an increase of 12.5%.
"We will open the stores on January 10." This is how retailers and malls are threatening today (Friday). Shahar Turgeman, chairman of the Fashion, Commerce and Catering Association, and Ofir Sarid, chairman of the Malls Forum, sent a letter to the Corona Cabinet claiming: "This is not a complete closure, this is a complete lie."
In the letter, they threaten: "Trade will not pay the price of the government's failures, so we intend to open businesses throughout the State of Israel on January 10. It should be remembered that by then more than one million Israeli citizens will be vaccinated, including the entire population at risk." According to them, "A-D students study, 11-12 students study, public transportation operates, businesses without public reception throughout the country are open, stock networks are open, 18,000 worshipers every Friday on the Temple Mount and the list is short to contain."
According to them, "From the beginning of the Corona crisis until today, trade in Israel has been closed for nearly five months, while at the same time the Israeli government imported the virus from abroad. Also, no enforcement was carried out in the Arab sector, in the ultra-Orthodox sector, at parties and weddings, prayers on the Temple Mount were held without any enforcement at all and the morbidity went up and up.
It is further written that "despite this abandonment, and in order to prevent a further increase in morbidity, the trade industry is required to re-enter under the stretcher, enter a closure and return half a million workers who have just returned to unpaid leave (Khalat) on one condition: ".
According to them, "Trade was again chosen to be the main victim of the government's failures, when in practice, unfortunately, the Israeli government again decided to make a partial closure, a closure in the form of perforated Swiss cheese, a perforated closure that would lead to a slow decline in morbidity - if any. "Outline a second closure, which led to the current situation, instead of an effective closure that allowed for five months of routine. We hereby inform the Israeli government that trade is in the dying stages."
