United Airlines has unveiled in Israel: check-in services without the need for human contact

Posted on Nov 12, 2020 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

United Airlines has unveiled modern technology in Israel that enables check-in services for the passenger and his luggage without the need for human contact. This is the first and only airline to present this service in Israel.
The "non-contact" check-in process begins with a check in the United app, or at united.com/checkin. Customers will be able to check in for the flight, add old luggage and pay for it. Upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, customers will approach designated checkpoints ("kiosks"), where they will scan the boarding pass from any mobile device or a copy of a printed ticket. The accompanying tags (luggage tags) associated with the flight will be printed immediately.
This technology is another component of United CleanPlus' policy, reflecting the company's commitment to placing health and safety at the forefront of the customer experience, and aiming to implement a leading global standard of cleanliness in the aviation industry. United customers in the US and London can also enjoy these advanced check-in services.
Yael Barzilai, CEO of United Airlines in Israel, said: "At United, safety is of paramount importance and we are proud to be the first airline to offer a non-contact check-in service at Ben Gurion Airport. We continue to provide a leading and innovative standard of cleanliness in the global aviation industry to ensure the health and safety of your employees and passengers, and to continue to be true to our United CleanPlus policy. "
United Airlines has also announced the addition of the Zoono Microbe Shield (EPA registered) antibacterial protective layer, which produces an antiseptic shell of the aircraft surfaces, long-lasting and inhibits bacterial growth, in addition to the existing safety and cleanliness procedures. The company is already implementing the new process in more than 30 aircraft, including those serving the routes to and from Israel. Disinfection is performed on the seats, tray tables, seat and handle areas, storage compartments, comfort compartments and staff service stations.
