Israel Railways reduces service in train traffic between Haifa and Tel Aviv

Israel Railways announced a reduction in train traffic between Haifa and Tel Aviv to a frequency of two trains per hour in each direction, since yesterday at 21:00 a train hit several wild boars in the Binyamina area. Thursdays are characterized by passenger congestion. Even in the days of the Corona, more passengers use the train on Thursdays and Sundays than on other days of the week.
According to Israel Railways, "because of the accident, one of the carriages fell and some of its wheels came off the track. As a result, the track was damaged and there is an urgent need for infrastructure maintenance." The number of available tracks has been temporarily reduced from two to one and this means that the number of trains on this line has been reduced from four in an hour to just two.
Trains on the Karmiel-Beer Sheva and Nahariya-Beer Sheva lines will operate between Tel Aviv Savidor Merkaz and Beer Sheva stations.
On the train, they emphasized: "The service at all stations currently operated is active, although the frequency of trains will decrease at some stations, and it may be necessary to change trains to complete the route. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience and recommend passengers to be updated. , And at the call center at * 5770 ".
The train said that upon completion of the track repair work, train traffic and travel routes would return to normal, but at this stage they did not specify any expectations for repairing the fault.
Israel Railways CEO Micha Meiksner wrote to employees: "This is a serious incident that caused damage to the railway infrastructure and passenger service, and fortunately ended without any casualties. However, I would like to express my full appreciation to all those who took part in the management of the event from start to finish - to supervise the train that took care of the passengers, the operating personnel, the infrastructure, the logistics, the mobile, the safety, the service and the spokespersons.
