French-Israeli Investor Charles Memoune Sells Historic Bialik Café Complex for NIS 14 Million

Charles Memoune, a French-Israeli entrepreneur and owner of Stays Investment Company, has completed the sale of the historic Bialik Café complex in Tel Aviv for NIS 14 million. The iconic property, located at 2 Bialik Street, on the corner of Allenby and Chernichovsky, spans 248 square meters and is considered an architectural gem of the Bauhaus era.

The transaction was carried out through Sameah Bialik Ltd., an Israeli subsidiary of Stays Israel. Maimon originally purchased the property in 2020 for NIS 9 million, realizing a substantial capital gain upon its sale.

The Bialik Café, established in 1932, was designed by architect David Tuvia and has been preserved for nearly a century in its original form. It has long stood as a cultural and historical symbol of Tel Aviv’s early urban life.

European Nissan Holding Group Expands to Israel

The buyer, Nissan Holding Group, an international European corporation active in the food and hospitality sectors, plans to transform the historic venue into Israel’s first A-Café — a contemporary café concept that has seen major success in Europe and was recently launched in Florida.

According to the company’s plans, four additional A-Café branches are expected to open in Israel within the next three years, signaling the group’s confidence in the local leisure and hospitality market.

Memoune Growing Real Estate Portfolio

Charles Memoune has established himself as a prominent real estate entrepreneur in both France and Israel, with an estimated investment portfolio of NIS 300 million.
In recent years, he has made significant investments in coworking office spaces in Bnei Brak and Ramat Gan, acquired the top floor of the new Lyfe Tower, and invested in a luxury assisted living project in Ashdod.

“The Bialik Café building represents the unique soul of Tel Aviv,” said a source close to the transaction. “This deal preserves the site’s historical character while breathing new life into one of the city’s most iconic corners.”
