The Minister of Finance, Israel Katz, announced this morning that he will appoint CPA Yahli Rotenberg to the position of Accountant General in the Ministry of Finance, subject to the approval of the appointments committee of the Civil Service Commission and the government decision.
Rotenberg, a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in business administration and a certified public accountant, has served for the past three years as Bezeq Group's CFO and chief financial officer. Prior to that, he served as senior deputy accountant at the Treasury. And the Debt Unit in the Ministry of Finance.
Finance Minister Katz said today that he is convinced that Rotenberg has all the necessary skills to deal with the great challenges facing the Ministry of Finance and in particular to the Accountant General during this challenging period. "During his public career, Yahli has held a number of significant positions in the Ministry of Finance, which will help him manage the economic crisis we are experiencing in the face of the outbreak of the corona virus, in everything related to his position."
At the end of July, Hezekiah announced to Katz that he would end his term with the approval of the Budget Law for 2020 or the end of October - the earlier date between them. The Accountant General has been managing the continuation budget based on the 2019 budget since the beginning of the year, in light of the political stalemate over the budget issue and Netanyahu's unwillingness to approve the budget for 2020-2021 in accordance with the coalition agreement.
