El Al is extending the unpaid leave of its employees - 6,080 in number, who were taken on leave almost six months ago - until September 30. In addition, EL AL is extending the cessation of commercial flights until the said date - that is, despite the opening of the skies and flights already departing abroad, EL AL will reside at least until after the holidays in September.
El Al CEO Gonen Ussishkin issued a letter to the employees stating: "It is also possible in passengers. At this stage, our ability to continue to exist is made possible mainly due to strict cash flow management and compliance with milestones as laid down by the Ministry of Finance."
Regarding the opening of the sky, Ussishkin wrote that "the decision in principle to open the sky is welcome and is a first and important swallow. At this stage it is an exemption from Israelis returning from 'green' countries, "Isolation obligations should be removed in the country of origin and destination, the inspection processes, if required, should be short, and no less important, the public's trust in flights should be high." - who were taken on leave almost six months ago - until September 30.
