On Thursday, Globes reported on the website about a security incident. Yesterday, the Medusa group published the ransom demand, which also includes an additional $10,000 for every day that passes without payment.
Medusa is a Russian crime group that hacks into organizations for financial purposes. Its method of operation is called double extortion: "In the first step, the hackers break into the organization, leak information, and then encrypt the systems and ask for money," explains Ram Levy, founder and CEO of Confides, a cyber crisis protection and management company. "After the hack, they leave a ransom note In which the attacked organization is asked to contact through anonymous channels and the payment is negotiated.
