Posted on Feb 4, 2020 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

The average salary of Israeli workers in November 2019 was NIS 10,499 gross per month, an increase of 1.6% compared to November 2018. According to figures published by the Central Bureau of Statistics. These figures are at current prices, reflecting the current wages employees receive into the bank account. This is also a 3.4% increase compared to the wage recorded in October, which stood at NIS 10,487 gross, but an annual look is a decline, with the highest level of average wages recorded in June with NIS 11,142,000 a month.
At constant prices, which lower the CPI to reflect the purchasing power of salaried employees in the economy (real wages), this represents a 1.3% increase over the same period the previous year. The total number of employee jobs in the economy amounted to 3,730.4 million Israeli workers, an increase of 1.1% compared to November 2018, which means an increase of 40.6 thousand jobs.
At the top of the earning list is the information and communications industry with an average salary of NIS 21,302 per month. Following in descending order - electricity and water supply workers, sewerage services, purification and waste treatment with an average of NIS 18,538 a month and bank and insurance workers with an average of NIS 16,760 a month.
However, most of the employee jobs (66%) are still in economic sectors where the average wage per employee job is lower than the average wage of 10,499 in the entire economy. These include health, welfare and welfare workers with NIS 6,113 a month, education workers with NIS 8,015 a month, management and support services workers with NIS 6,156 a month, and at the bottom of the list are hospitality and food service workers with NIS 5,229 a month.
The high-tech field is examined separately from the other areas due to its centrality in the economy and the acute shortage of manpower. According to the figures, the salary of high-tech employees in November 2019 was NIS 22,882 gross per month, an increase of 2% compared to the same period last year, when the average salary was NIS 22,437 a month.
The number of employee jobs in the field reached 329.8 thousand, following an increase of 0.6% (which means an increase of 2,000 jobs) compared to the previous month of October, and of 2.9% compared to November 2018 (then there were 320.4 thousand jobs). High-tech employee jobs accounted for 8.8% of all employee jobs in the economy.
By industry, the highest salary was in the scientific research and development industry, with an average salary of NIS 29,002 a month, while the lowest in communications services (NIS 14,151 a month). The largest number of employee jobs was in computer programming and consulting, with approximately 156.2 thousand jobs, which is almost half of all high-tech jobs at an average salary of NIS 23,518,000 a month.
