Gasoline price at midnight will be NIS 5.99 per liter

Posted on Feb 1, 2020 by Ifi Reporter

Gasoline at midnight, the price will be NIS 5.99 per liter. This is a self-service octane-95 gasoline. For gas service workers' extra service, 21 cents per liter will be added, unchanged from the previous month.
At the same time, the price of fuel sold in Eilat will also decline, and in the near future gasoline prices there will not exceed NIS 5.12 per liter, a decrease of 13 cents from the previous month. Fee for full service by gas station workers will remain at 18 cents per liter, unchanged from the previous month.
A look at the Ministry of Energy data shows that the price drop is attributed to a drop of about 8% in the price of fuel in the Mediterranean basin, which was joined by a 0.3% decline in the dollar exchange rate. The tax rate remains high and at 65% of every liter of gasoline.
The reason for the decline is about an 8% drop in world oil prices. The gas component (excise and VAT) at the gasoline price is 66% of the consumer price.
2019 began with the lowest fuel prices - NIS 5.83 per liter of petrol 95 octane in January and NIS 5.91 in February - against the backdrop of large oil surpluses in the world. Last May, the price peaked at NIS 6.51 amid fears of supply reductions, following tensions between Iran and the United States. However, prices fell to a low of NIS 6.07 in September.
