2019: Land tenders for 56,340 housing units were released

Posted on Jan 2, 2020 by Ifi Reporter

In 2019, land tenders for 56,340 housing units were released. Of these, land tendering for housing in demand areas totaling approximately 25,000 housing units (Tel Aviv and Central and Haifa and Jerusalem metropolitan areas) were published.
In 2019, real estate allocations were allocated by the Chief of Land Complexes to build 38,628 housing units. The average land allocation allocation in the last four years is 41,000 housing units per year. In order to meet the natural growth of the population of the State of Israel, approximately 50,000 housing units are required (according to the National Economic Council's strategic plan). The volume of tenders and allocations by the Israel Lands Authority meets the above need. The center area stands out with land planning for about 40,000 housing units.
Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon said in the light of the data: "The Israel Lands Authority has been accelerating this year, and as a result, we are seeing a building boom across the country that ultimately led to a fall in housing prices. At a reasonable price even in demand areas. "
Israel Land Authority director Adiel Shimron says the cumulative data on housing land tendering publications in recent years show that the housing supply problem has been reduced almost entirely. Each year, we were able to market land volume that met housing needs and even contributed to reducing the housing deficit created in previous years. Now there is a focus on more balanced land marketing, across the country.
Adiel Shamron emphasized that this data was obtained despite a year that was high in elections - two national and municipal elections.
