Night Strikes by Iran and Pre-Noon Attack by Hezbollah Trigger Alarms Across the Country

Israel faced a major escalation on the fifth day of the ongoing conflict, as Iranian forces launched multiple missile strikes overnight, followed by a separate Hezbollah barrage before noon on Thursday, prompting widespread alerts and activating protected areas across the country.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that several Iranian missiles targeted central and northern regions, with Iron Dome batteries intercepting many of the projectiles. Some shrapnel landed in open areas, causing no casualties, while a small number of residents sustained light injuries while rushing to shelters.

Earlier Thursday, Hezbollah launched rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from southern Lebanon, triggering alarms in the Galilee, Golan Heights, and Haifa regions. Civil defense teams and emergency medical services, including Magen David Adom (MDA), were deployed to monitor impact zones and assist affected civilians. No fatalities were reported in either the Iranian or Hezbollah attacks, although several people suffered light injuries during evacuation procedures.

Israeli intelligence reports indicate that Iran has sought to leverage Hezbollah and other Shiite militias in Lebanon and Iraq to pressure Israel while
