Vaccinated parents who are staying with the children in isolation will receive payment from the employer

The Ministry of Finance has issued a memorandum of law extending the outline for "financing the absence of an employee due to a requirement for isolation", so that the arrangement will be extended until the end of September 2021. This time the arrangement also includes a special benefit for vaccinated parents.
That is, the most significant change in the new outline is that even the vaccinated parents who are staying with the children in isolation will receive payment from the employer. In the previous outline, businesses received indemnity from the state only for the workers themselves who were in isolation. This time it is also about the children of the vaccinated workers.
Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman: "For the first time, vaccinated parents who were in solitary confinement with their children will be addressed and payment will be made retroactively from January 2021. Providing a safety net for businesses is critical.
Employers responded to the law memorandum, saying that regulating the isolation financing outline would encourage immunization and criticality right now when there is a fear of a new outbreak.
The chairman of the employers' and businesses' presidency and the president of the Manufacturers' Association, Dr. Ron Tomer, this evening welcomed the finance ministry's decision and the issue of isolation: Will help the economy deal with such an outbreak as it may be and will even encourage workers to get vaccinated since an employee who has not been vaccinated will receive a reduced pay, this is a critical move these days.
I call on all workers and their families to get vaccinated and take care of their well-being and the peace of those close to them. "
The chairman of the business sector presidency, Dovi Amitai, also welcomed the remarks: "We thank the Minister of Finance for this important move. The state allocated NIS 720 million for the benefit of the indemnity, but NIS 580 million of that was not used at all. I call on employers to exercise their right to a difficult period of burden "
With regard to citizens who have chosen not to get vaccinated, other than for medical reasons, we demand that the memorandum of law be amended so that anyone who chooses not to get vaccinated will bear the cost of his days of absence from work. It makes no sense for the employer or the state to bear these costs. "
Amitai added: "We hope that along with the extension of the indemnity, the regulatory barriers that prevented employers from submitting the applications will also be released and we are confident that the Minister of Finance will continue to be attentive as we run into difficulties."
In the environment of the former Minister of Finance, Israel Katz, they were quick to respond. The long struggle of employers who did not want to bear the costs of insulation. As part of this, the state bears 75% of the costs of isolation days for small businesses and half of the costs for medium and large businesses. "
