Salesforce announced the process of reopening its offices around the world under the company's new work model "Success from Everywhere", with the first offices to be opened among the company's representatives in the Middle East, Europe and the US being its offices in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Sales and Global Human Resources President and CEO Brent Haider said: “It is hard to believe that just a year ago we embarked on a journey that will forever change the way our future looks. It was a year marked by multiple crises and small victories. As the corona virus began to spread around the world, we quickly closed all our offices around the world and moved our 54,000 employees at that time to work from home. Now, we have reached a critical milestone in the journey and we are beginning to reopen our offices in the US and around the world.
The CEO of the Salesforce Israel Research and Development Center, Efi Cohen, said that "We are proud of the opening of the offices in Israel as one of the leading and first offices to open in the world, we look forward to the return of employees to offices in Tel Aviv Efficient and optimal, as it was during the year. "
The first offices to open among the company's offices in the US this May will be Salesforce Towers in San Francisco, which is the company's headquarters and largest and largest offices, as well as additional company offices in Palo Alto and Irvine, California. The option to work from home until December 31, 2021.
From a survey conducted by Salesforce, it was found that in June 2020 only 32% of employees wanted to return to work from the offices, but now this figure has risen significantly and stands at 72%. In addition, it was found that Generation Z's desire to return to work in offices is twice as high as that of Generation X and the Baby Boom generation.
Other data in the survey indicate that although 50% of employees are interested in coming to the offices only a few times a month, still about 80% are interested in some direct contact with the offices on a regular basis (at least once).
In a survey conducted at the company's offices in Sydney, Australia, where hundreds of employees returned to work safely and productively, starting in September 2020, a number of other interesting data emerge.
Thursday is the new Monday, the most popular day for employees to come to the office is Thursday. Employees prefer to start the week from home, and in fact only about half of the shared workspaces in the offices are in use. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, it jumps to 80% occupancy.
It turns out that the office is a place for human connection and collaboration: the survey data found that 64% of the common spaces like lounges and meeting rooms were utilized, while only 24% of the employees' personal work areas were used. Also, 80% of employees coordinated in advance with another employee a common day to get to work.
Haider added, "Through constant and ongoing employee feedback and employee engagement, Salesforce will be able to create the workplace of the future - a place that allows employees to be more connected to each other, find a broader work-life balance and promote equality of opportunity, leading to increased innovation and better business results. ".
