American Airlines resumes flights to Israel

American Airlines resumes flights to Israel. The company has announced that it will operate a daily flight from Ben Gurion Airport to JFK Airport in New York, which will take off for the first time from the United States on May 6 and for the first time from Israel on May 8. The flight will be offered on Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
The flight from New York will take off at 23:10 and land in Israel at 17:15, while the flight from Ben Gurion Airport to New York will depart at 00:50 and land in the United States at 6:00. A random check of prices for some flight dates next week, reveals that a round-trip flight ticket costs $ 800-700.
As part of the partnership between American Airlines and Jet Blue, connecting flights to the Northeastern United States will be possible. Passengers have three classes to choose from: Economy Class, Economy Premium and Business Class.
Jan Folman-Lavie, National Sales Manager of American Airlines in Israel, notes that the launch of the new Tel Aviv-New York daily route is the first step in an extensive move to open additional destinations for direct flights from Ben Gurion Airport.
American Airlines was supposed to return to Israel as early as September 2020 with a direct flight to Dallas in Texas, where its base is, but the launch of the line was postponed in light of the Corona plague.
