The American company Rapid 7 announced Monday the acquisition of the Israeli cyber intelligence company IntSights. The amount of the transaction will be close to $ 400 million and includes a component of the purchase of shares, cash existing in the company's coffers and an amount for employee retention. Following the acquisition, Insights is expected to become the development center of Rapid 7, in Israel.
Insights was established in 2015 by Guy Nitzan (CEO), Gal Ben David (CTO) and Alon Arbetz (Director of the Development Center), all three graduates of various technology units in the IDF. The company has so far raised $ 70 million from investors such as Glilot Capital, Qumra Capital, ClearSky, Blackstone, Bloomberg Capital, Tola Capital, Vintage and Wipro.

Insights was ranked seventh on Calcalist's list of promising companies for 2021. It employs more than 200 people and serves over 350 customers, including: Blackstone, American Eagle, Teva, Caesars Hotels and more.
A significant part of the company's work includes monitoring the "dark web" (Darknet - a nickname for a part of the Internet that cannot be reached through standard browsers, and is characterized by extensive criminal activity). The information gathered there feeds a system that analyzes cyber risks to large organizations, and this provides intelligence on potential threats and possible attack methods, and activates appropriate protection ahead of time.
Guy Nitzan, CEO of IntSights, said: “When we set up the company, there were very outdated solutions that did not allow organizations to consume cyber intelligence effectively within their defense systems. Insights has completely changed the cyber world by making intelligence a critical part of the enterprise security system and in addition, has made cyber intelligence accessible by any organization, and not just for organizations that employ hundreds of information security personnel. Integrating our technology into Rapid 7 systems will enable us to reach thousands of customers more quickly and accelerate the process of growth and adoption of our technology among organizations around the world. We have an exceptional team of employees in the company who managed to build an entire category in the cyber world in a short time and he will continue with us in the new structure of the company as well. "
Rapid 7, is one of the most comprehensive security platforms on the market, and it includes a wide array of detection and response of cyber attacks, vulnerability management, cloud security, application security and synchronization of security and automation. Insight's technology will be integrated into Rapid 7's platform to enable organizations and companies to have a consistent view of threats, attack monitoring, high quality and reliability alerts to ensure effective security operations, relevant insights, proactive threat reduction and rapid response times.
"Cyber security is a multi-system battle and the odds are always in favor of the attackers," said Corey Thomas, chairman and CEO of Rapid7. "Insights and Rapid 7 believe that organizations will succeed in cyber defense only when they have a consistent understanding of internal and external threats, including intelligence and automatic threat reduction that will allow security teams to focus on the most critical threats."
