Colmobil Energy Wins National “Sunshine for All” Project to Install Solar Systems on 100 Homes

Posted on May 18, 2025 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Colmobil Energy, one of Israel’s leading companies in the residential solar sector, has won a competitive bid to lead the Sunshine for All” project, which will see the installation of solar energy systems on approximately 100 single-family homes across nine localities nationwide.

This marks the largest group-buying solar project in an urban area ever launched in Israel. The systems will collectively generate 1.2 megawatts of solar power and are expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 1,150 tons annually, contributing significantly to the country’s environmental and energy goals.

Supporting National Goals for Renewable Energy

The project is part of a broader push by the Ministry of Energy, which recently unveiled an ambitious plan to install solar panels on 100,000 residential rooftops by 2030. Group purchasing initiatives, like the one led by Colmobil Energy, are seen as key to making solar technology more affordable and accessible to homeowners, and ultimately reaching the national target of 30% renewable energy production by the end of the decade.

Einat Datner, Director of the Israeli Energy Forum and the driving force behind the “Sunshine for All” initiative, emphasized the environmental urgency and community impact of the project:

Earth Day reminds us of what we must do every day — accelerate the transition to renewable energy by unlocking the full potential of rooftop solar production in residential areas. This project not only benefits the environment but also supports local communities.”

“The Solar Revolution Is in Full Swing”

Aviv Pepper, CEO of Colmobil Energy, praised the project’s role in advancing Israel’s clean energy transformation:

The solar revolution in Israel is already in full swing. Organizing buyer groups is a major catalyst for this shift. It allows us to expand installations in both private homes and multi-family buildings, making solar energy more accessible to households across the country.”

Colmobil Energy’s win positions the company at the forefront of Israel’s renewable energy movement and reflects the growing momentum behind residential solar initiatives.
