Colmobil Energy Unveils Innovative Renewable Solutions at Kibbutz Energy Conference

Posted on Jul 9, 2025 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

At the Annual Energy Conference for Kibbutzim, held this year at Kibbutz Maagan Michael, Tehila Bar Or, VP of Business Development at Colmobil Energy, outlined a series of practical and immediate solutions that enable kibbutzim to enhance profitability through smarter use of existing assets.

The event drew hundreds of energy professionals, business leaders, and kibbutz economic managers. In her presentation, Bar Or highlighted how rooftops, fences, and internal infrastructures can be leveraged for clean energy generation, all while shortening project timelines and reducing dependency on heavy regulation and long-term grid connections.

Colmobil Energy, the renewable energy division of the Colmobil Group, is at the forefront of smart, adaptable energy systems, with particular leadership in two game-changing areas:

Bar Or explained that recent regulatory changes have made low-voltage storage systems more accessible for kibbutzim with existing solar installations. These storage solutions:

  • Guarantee a stable tariff over the system's lifespan

  • Enable smart load management

  • Boost self-consumption rates

  • Create new revenue streams from existing systems

“This is operationally significant news for the entire electricity sector,” said Bar Or. “It enables kibbutzim to immediately increase returns on current infrastructure with minimal regulatory burden.”

Colmobil Energy is also recognized as a pioneer in solar fence technology. The company recently received groundbreaking approval from the Home Front Command for its proprietary solar fence design, allowing it to move forward with over 30 signed agreements for deployment across kibbutzim and moshavim.

“This is a dual win,” Bar Or explained. “We’re making efficient use of unused fence lines, generating clean energy without encroaching on valuable agricultural land.”

The solar fence solution also takes advantage of dual-use land regulations, allowing kibbutzim to create value from perimeter areas traditionally unused for energy purposes.

A Profitable, Practical Path to Energy Independence

Colmobil Energy's presence at the conference underscored its commitment to providing scalable, regulation-aware solutions for agricultural communities. With its expertise in low-voltage storage and solar fences, the company is enabling kibbutzim to maximize profitability, enhance energy independence, and accelerate implementation timelines.

As demand for decentralized and smart energy solutions continues to rise, Colmobil Energy is expected to deepen its partnerships across Israel’s agricultural sector in the months ahead.
