Residents at Israeli Assisted-Living Home Salute Argentina’s Milei for Pro-Israel Stand

About 200 residents of the Palace Ra’anana assisted-living home, many of them immigrants from Argentina and other South American countries, held a tribute event this week honoring Argentine President Javier Milei for what organizers described as his strong and public support for Israel on the international stage.

The event, hosted at Palace Ra'anana, a residence operated by the Azrieli Group, featured Argentine and Israeli flags, large photographs of Milei, live music by an Argentine orchestra and band, and traditional Argentine cuisine prepared by the home’s chef.

Among the attendees were Argentina’s ambassador to Israel, Axel Shimon Vahnish, Ra’anana Mayor Haim Broida, and senior management of the residence.

In brief remarks, Palace Ra’anana Director Shlomit Ravid said the initiative was born out of appreciation for Milei’s outspoken backing of Israel at a time of heightened political pressure and rising antisemitism worldwide.

“In days when Israel is facing political attacks and Jewish communities are encountering hostility abroad, President Milei represents a clear voice of friendship and solidarity,” Ravid said. “Our residents wanted to express gratitude and respect and asked that a simple message be conveyed to the president: Muchas gracias.”

Ambassador Vahnish thanked the residents for what he called a “moving and heartfelt” gesture and said he would relay details of the event directly to President Milei.

The gathering underscored the close cultural and emotional ties between Israel and Argentina’s Jewish community, one of the largest in the world, and highlighted Milei’s growing profile in Israel following a series of strongly pro-Israel statements since taking office.
